Meri-Glenn Freeman is a junior at the University of Alabama majoring in political science and public relations with a minor in Civic Engagement and Leadership. She is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jack B. Freeman residents of Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

Meri-Glenn’s platform is Target Tutoring, an after-school mentoring program for at risk elementary and middle school children in and around the Tuscaloosa community. As an Honor Student at the Capstone, Meri-Glenn became involved with the Honor Mentoring Program in the Fall of 2005 and since has helped build and grow the program at various elementary schools including Cottondale Elementary, Holt Elementary and Matthews Elementary.  She currently serves as a student leader and the student intern for the program. Target Tutoring allows at-risk students to not only excel in their academics, but also to improve socially, emotionally and in their behavior.

Meri-Glenn is the Vice President of Chi Omega Sorority, President of Lambda Sigma Honor Society, Vice President of the Coordinating Council of Honor Societies, Deputy Communication Directors for SGA External Affairs, a member of The Other Club, a member of the Blackburn Institute, a University Steward, five time member on the President’s List and served as a Summer Intern for Governor Bob Riley.

After college, Meri-Glenn plans to pursue a masters in political communication as well as a law degree and have a career in public policy. She looks forward to her year of service and representing the University of Alabama.
