Crowned Miss Alabama 1997, Beth Stomps Feller, had the opportunity to travel the state of Alabama speaking and entertaining churches, civic groups, and schools. In her travels, she spoke on behalf of AIDS Alabama, a statewide support group for persons living with HIV/AIDS, as well as lobbied in Washington, D.C. for the National AIDS Housing Coalition.
With the support of her scholarship monies from the Miss Alabama/ Miss America Organization, Beth returned to the University of Alabama to complete her degree. In addition to school, she also completed an internship with U.S. Representative Congressman Sonny Callahan in Washington D.C. In 2000, she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, with a minor in Vocal Performance.
A trained mezzo soprano with a love for musical theatre, Beth has continued to work as a professional entertainer. Featured roles include Eliza in My Fair Lady, Joanna in Sweeny Todd, Aldonza in Man of La Mancha, and Lily in The Secret Garden. She has also performed in Germany, as a representative of Tuscaloosa, Alabama's sister city delegation. In October 2006, Beth, along with other Miss Alabama formers, performed for the troops of Ft. Cambell, KY in the American Bass Anglers' "Salute to the Screaming Eagles." She also has numerous television, voice over, and film credits, including being featured in the country music video, "G.R.I.T.S."
Beth has remained actively involved as a volunteer with the Miss America organization, serving as emcee, judge, and board member. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Miss Tuscaloosa Pageant, an official preliminary to Miss Alabama. She is a certified judge in the state of Mississippi and Alabama. Currently, Beth served on the Miss Sacramento County Board of Directors, an official preliminary to the Miss California Pageant.
Beth is employed by Berlex Laboratories as a Hospital Sales Consultant. She specializes in contrast within radiology departments, specializing in MRI. In her spare time, Beth enjoys running and riding with her husband on their Harley motorcycle. In March 2007, Beth will complete her first half marathon and is in training to run her first marathon in the summer. She is a member of the Junior League of Sacramento and the Sacramento Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi. She is married to Matt Feller, and resides in Sacramento, CA with their golden retriever, Bama.
